A Summer Trip

by L. Dani, 7th grade

This summer I went to Nádasd, which is a village ’near’ Balaton. We went to visit one of my parents’ friends who lives there. I think we were there for 9 days. My parents’ friends bought a house and we slept there. It had a sauna, a jacuzzi tub, an Xbox 360 and no wifi. It also had beer in the basement. I think another reason why we went there was because the Völgy Festival, which is nearby, but I’m not sure, but a reason which I’m sure about is that my Dad was the pastor at the worship on Sunday. It was a 4 hour ride from Nyíregyháza, so it was pretty boring. We also brought our Switch with us. It’s Switch or Nintendo Switch, please don’t call it Nintendo, that’s the company. After that we went to Révfülöp. It is next to Balaton. We were there for a week. We watched the new Aladdin movie and Spiderman: Far From Home at an outdoor cinema there. The outdoor cinema also has a beach. We went to that beach twice and twice to the other one which had a restaurant. Next we went another town that I don’t remember the name of, for 3 days with my half-sister and my nephew and niece. I don’t remember much about that. Also there are probably a lot of things I forgot

NYÍREGYHÁZA {Informative Writing}

by K. L. Mátyás

Nyíregyza is the city where I live. This city is in Eastern-Hungary in a county called Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg megye (county). This city has a population around 120K people. This is one of the most powerful city in Hungary and that’s cool if we think of another simular city, like Miskolc. It doesn’t look similar, but people do the same things, such as making pálinka and drinking pálinka. Did you know that the pálinka from Nyíregyháza is 60 % alcohol If you want your pálinka to be weaker here try using Domestos. But lets talk about the oldest building in Nyíregyháza. It’s the Lutheran church. This is historically the first building at Nyíregyháza, and in my theory when you type Nyíregyháza in your GPS it will mark the Lutheran Church. In the 18th century rich people sent tirpák people here from Szarvas, which is still not a compound word. So tirpák people started building a village, then it evolved to be a town, then it became the capital of the county. People like eating here too. Well if you look around at Hungary you can see that people like eating everywhere. Stuffed cabbage in Nyíregyháza is very good. Let me introduce it to you. So it’s small, it’s spicy and it’s very good. There are sports here like pig killing and pig eating and beer lifting and many similar things. I personally was not born in Nyíregyháza, but I live here and I’m proud of the things if wrote, well most of the things I wrote.

Nyíregyháza {Informative Writing}

Nyiregyháza is a big city in Northern Hungary. I like to go to Kossuth Square and eat ice cream. Some other famous places are the zoo and Sóstó Village Museum. People go to the zoo to look at polar bears. People go to the Village Museum to see earthen houses. My favorite thing about Nyíregyháza is Korzo.

Nyiregyháza is a city in northeastern Hungary and the county capital of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg.

History

 Nyíregyháza is a very old city. I think Nyiregyháza’s most famous place is the Sóstó Zoo. It has more than 500 species of  animals. In Nyíregyháza there are 4 important churches: the Lutheran, the Reformed and two Catholic churches (Roman and Greek).

The inhabitants of the town took an active part in the revolution and war for independence in 1848-49, and after the suppression of the revolution several citizens were imprisoned, among them the mayor, Márton Hatzel.

Nyíregyháza’s population is 118,000. It is the seventh-largest city in Hungary!

Why I like Nyíregyháza

I like Nyíregyháza cause I was born here and I live here. My favourite place is Sóstó Lake and the forest.

Nyíregyháza {Informative Writing}

by L. Dani, 7th grade

Nyíregyháza has been the capital of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg State since 1876. More than 117 thousand people live here. The Hungarian Lego Factory is here. It's on the Eastern side of the country. The average price of a 3 star hotel is 12,799 Forints.

 The Lutheran Church: It's Nyíregyháza's oldest building. There is a golden globe on top of the church. In 2001 when the church was repaired they had to take off the globe and while they refinished it they had to take it apart and they found papers from 1822, 1853 and 1883 about the history of Nyíregyháza, hunger, wildfires and things about religion.

Kossuth Square: In the middle of the Square there is a memorial for Kossuth Lajos which was built by Bethlen Gábor. Kossuth Lajos was an important person in the 1848 Revolution. The Town Hall is also here. In 1912 the Saving Post Office was built here by Hubert József. There is also a hotel called Korona Hotel/Korona Szálló. The Korzó (a small mall) is also there. Once there was a Lego shop there but it was closed and a book store opened at where it used to be. Also the Roman Catholic church is there behind a big fountain.
