Christmas {Writing about Christmas Traditions}

by Evi, 5th grade

In my family we celebrate Christmas every year. Me and my sisters and my brother always are very happy and very excited. We always go up to the loft and pick up the fake tree and go down and we starts to dress up the tree, but before Christmas me and my sister (Heni) make a gingerbread house. After we go to help my mum.We always cook for three days before Christmas. I always make gifts for my parents and my parents are always happy for that.We always open the presents on December 24 because Hungarians do this, but this year my family is thinking about changing this. My family has two dogs and my dogs always get presents because my family really loves our dogs and my dogs always sleep in the family house. The tree is in the kids' bedroom. I have a three years old sister and she really loves Christmas and she always dresses up at Christmas and she always uses a Christmas voice.

Merry Christmas!

Christmastime at my home {Writing about Christmas Traditions}

by Panna, 5th grade

With my family,  we go to the Christmas street market and we go shopping. We go to my two grandmums’ and my aunts and uncles are there. My mum cooks turkey and chicken and my grandmums too. I make a lot of presents for my family. My little sister and me decorate the Christmas tree. My family and I go to the room and we say Camon Jezus. My sister is the littlest in this family and my family tradition is that the littlest girl or boy sings the Christmas music. She can choose what he or she sings, and we listen. And my grandmum bakes cake and we are very happy because my grandmum's cake is very yummy.

Christmas Traditions: Traditional Foods {Writing about Christmas Traditions}

by Máté K, 5th grade

These are the traditional foods in my family: My favourite one is the cooked duck meat.

We often eat fried fish. That's really good too. My mum always makes potato puree.

I don’t like it, but I think meat with meat . I don’t like it too, but there’s beetroot salad too.

Christmas: Santa {Writing about Christmas Traditions}

by Máté L, 5th grade

Santa is holy Michael and he brought dolls to kids but then he brought money to the kids. Nice. Today he brings only candy (in Hungary or just to me)… thanks Santa. Back to the topic, at night he comes to bring the candy to the stockings and eat cookies.  He puts the candy into the stockings. They are hanging on the stove. Kids like Santa but the real Santa lives in Finland.
