by Sz. Niki, 8th grade

The City of New York, often called New York City (NYC) or simply New York (NY), is the most populous city in the United States. Approximately 8,622,698 people live hear (according to Wikipedia). The flag is blue with two people and a bird on it. More than 800 languages are spoken in New York City. The first pizzeria in the United States opened in NYC in 1895. In New York there’s a very famous sight: the Statue of Liberty.

The statue’s full name is Liberty Enlightening the World. It was a gift from France, given to America in 1886. There are 25 windows in Lady Liberty's crown. The total weight of the Statue of Liberty is 204 metric tonnes(225 US tons). The seven rays of the Statue’s crown represent the seven seas and seven continents of the world. The statue was shaped using 300 different types of hammers. I chose the Statue of Liberty because it's nice.
