Pandas {Animal Project - Informational Writing}

by Bogi, 6th grade

Pandas are black and white.  Pandas resemble bears . Pandas can eat bamboo but they also can eat fish and small animals. They live in China in a misty and rainy forest. Only about 1,500 pandas exist in the world. The pandas’ molars are broad and flat. Pandas can climb up 13,000 feet and they are very good swimmers. Sometimes the male pandas relax in a 13,000 feet high tree. An adult female panda weighs 200 pounds. The panda is very shy because pandas can not go close to humans. This restricts pandas to a limited area. The panda is 165-300 lbs,  like a piano. The panda is slower then  a car because they can only run 18 mph. The panda is shorter than a school bus because they are 5.3-6.2 feet long.

Mini Yorkie {Animal Project - Informational Writing}

by Lili, 6th grade

They eat dog food and any human food, but they don’t eat sugar because they will die because it's harmful to them. They live in human homes and they are pets. Mini Yorkies are so cute…. They have big eyes. They  have small bodies and they are very intelligent animals.  I like fat Mini Yorkies a lot… I have a Mini Yorkie and her name is Fasírt. Fasírt likes to run and play a lot.

Anacondas {Animal Project - Informational Writing}

by Nikki, 7th grade

The anaconda is classified as a reptile. It is the largest snake in the world because it can reach a length of 9 meters! They are also very heavy. They can weigh up to 227 kilograms. They do not kill their prey by delivering venom through a bite, but instead they wrap themselves around their prey and squeeze them. That also means that they are not herbivores, but carnivores. They can open their mouths wide enough to fit in a small deer, or a jaguar. They usually live for 10 years. Their common name is green anaconda because they are mostly green. There are also anacondas with darker colors. They have scales  which can be striped or they have colorful dots. This animal is very scary, but at the same time it is very interesting!

Jaguars {Animal Project - Informational Writing}

by Eszter, 7th grade

I’ve chosen the Panthera Onca, or the Jaguar, as it’s commonly known as. They have orange fur with the black "rosettes," spots that look like roses. There is also a rare type, the black Jaguar, which is black with black spots. As with other animals in "the big cat family", the Jaguar is a carnivore. It mostly eats fish, turtles, or caimans. Sometimes they eat deer, peccaries, capybaras, and tapirs. They can kill their prey with one bite. They live in South America, in forests, mountains, and deserts. They live for 12 and 15 years. They are going extinct. They can run 80 km/h. They are 100 kg. They can be 1.8 meters long.
